The
Kids Channel is designed to be a safe haven for young children to have fun and
explore the internet, with Mums & Dads, Brothers & Sisters, Grandparents
and friends. Studies have shown that children as young as two years old can
understand the relationship between a computer mouse which is moved and 'clicked'
and the actions that take place on screen. Young children enjoy colourful images,
movement, sounds and exploration. We hope to provide you with a range of activities
which stimulate kids without the risk of exposure to inappropriate information.
Kids Channel is monitored continually to ensure that information is appropriate
for young children. We regularly check any links to other sites to ensure that
children cannot easily click through to sites which might contain offensive,
violent or harmful material.
Our policy is to avoid collecting information from children wherever possible.
We do not ask parents or children to register or submit any personal data. Occasionally,
however, you may wish to send your name and address, such as when submitting
a story for the StoryBook. This is entirely voluntary. Kids Channel is covered
by the UK Data Protection Act and we will not, under any circumstances publish
or distribute postal addresses, email addresses or any other form of contact
information. Neither will we send unsolicited post or email. If you receive
any form of communication claiming to be from Kids Channel - PLEASE CONTACT
US IMMEDIATELY.
Kids Channel is free to everyone. However, the cost of running the channel is
not. We allow a small amount of discrete sponsorship from companies who we deem
to be promoting goods or services which are appropriate for children. If you
feel that this is wrong - let us know. Would you be prepared to pay an annual
subscription to access Kids Channel instead?
We value all comments, criticisms and ideas. As parents, it is our responsibility
to guide and teach our children. Please let
us know what you think and what you want. We will answer every message sent.
